PERAWATAN ULANG SALURAN AKAR NON BEDAH GIGI PREMOLAR MAKSILA DISERTAI LESI PERIAPIKAL

Root canal treatment is becoming more predictable procedure with a high success rate, there are still a certain percentage of cases that fail, one of which is bacterial persistent. Previously treated teeth with persistent periapical lesion might be treated with nonsurgical retreatment or endodontic surgery. Nonsurgical endodontic root canal retreatment is one conservative option for the management of persistent apical periodontitis before surgical procedure. Aim: this case report presents the management of nonsurgical endodontic retreatment on maxillary first premolar using rotary retreatment files. Case: a 23 years old female patient with chief complaint of persistent pain on right maxillary tooth with food impaction and the teeth had been treated with root canal treatment for a year. Clinical examination showed colour changes, low contact point, and give a positive response to percussion test. Radiography examination showed radiopaque material in root canals as obturation materials and radiolucent images in periapical area of the teeth. Case Management: The treatment was done with retreatment files (M3-RT, UDG) followed with warm vertical condensation technique using obturator system (Fi-G & Fi- P, Woodpecker). Conclusions: nonsurgical endodontic retreatment should be preferred choice to persistent periapical lesion other than surgical therapy. Keywords: Non-surgery endodontic retreatment, Retreatment files, Periapical lesion
