Open space is the main element in any outdoor activity such as campus. Open space of the Indonesia Port Corporation (IPC) University campus has various types and activities which has different level of comfort value of each open space area, but there are still locations in the open spaces of the IPC University campus where the effectiveness of the vegetation does not match the functions and criteria of each open space. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the vegetation function in each area of the campus open space. The research was conducted at 4 locations and 8 points in each open space area. The method used is qualitative and quantitative by the Key Performance Index (KPI). The result of the research is that the highest value of shade function is at location 1 (66.25%) because it is dominated by vegetation with the criteria of being planted inrows and with dense leaf mass.
